WEIGHTLOSS CONSULTATION $100

Contact one of our medical providers to determine if GLP1 (Semaglutide/Tirzapetide)

is suitable for you.

Semaglutide:

Semaglutide is an antidiabetic medication primarily used to treat type 2 diabetes and as a long-term weight management solution. It mimics the hormone glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and can be administered either through subcutaneous injections or orally.

Benefits of Semaglutide (GLP-1 Receptor Agonist):

Blood Sugar Control

Semaglutide helps lower blood sugar levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes. It is used alongside diet and exercise to manage blood sugar effectively.

Weight Loss

This medication aids in weight loss for people who are overweight or obese. By interacting with GLP-1 receptors in the body, it helps reduce hunger and increase feelings of fullness. In a study, 50% of participants lost 15% of their body weight after 68 weeks, with nearly 30% losing 20%.

Cardiovascular Health

Semaglutide can lower the risk of significant heart-related events like heart attacks, strokes, or heart disease in those with type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular conditions. Clinical trials have demonstrated its effectiveness in reducing major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) compared to traditional treatments.

Kidney Health

Research indicates that semaglutide may help slow the progression of kidney disease, maintain a healthier estimated glomerular filtration rate, and decrease albumin levels in urine.

Potential Alzheimer's Disease Benefits

Studies are ongoing to assess the impact of semaglutide on individuals with early-stage Alzheimer's disease. Since diabetes is a risk factor for dementia, improving diabetic conditions could potentially reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's.

Tirzepatide:

Tirzepatide is a prescription medication with several benefits, including the treatment of type 2

diabetes and aiding in weight loss:

Type 2 Diabetes

Tirzepatide is FDA-approved for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). It is used in combination with diet and exercise to help regulate blood sugar levels. As a dual agonist for the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptors, tirzepatide can enhance glycemic control.

Weight Loss

Tirzepatide is also used off-label to address obesity. It helps individuals feel fuller with less food

and slows down digestion. A clinical trial conducted in 2022 demonstrated that tirzepatide

resulted in a 20% reduction in body weight over 72 weeks. Researchers at the University of

California, Irvine, estimate that the use of tirzepatide could prevent up to 2 million heart attacks

and strokes over a decade.

Administration

Tirzepatide is administered via subcutaneous (SQ) injection and is not yet available in an oral form. Dosages are available in strengths of 2.5 mg/0.5 mL, 5 mg/0.5 mL, 7.5 mg/0.5 mL, 10 mg/0.5 mL, 12.5 mg/0.5 mL, and 15 mg/0.5 mL.

Adult Dosage

The standard dosing schedule for tirzepatide is once weekly. The prescribed dose can be increased during follow-up visits based on efficacy, which is determined by HbA1c levels, body weight, and adverse effects. The patient's tolerance to adverse effects significantly influences dosage adjustments.
